This week’s With Love from my Corporate Keyboard includes an Elfchen (an eleven word poem which follows a certain structure), a reflection on lessons learnt from Silence, and a longer poem about finding true love at the right time.
The full work of my poetry can be found in the published and paper-back volume— Of Love and Lilac, which you can purchase (here).

MONARCH KISSES
I tie my shoelaces to the indigo clouds,
and skip in the daydream dripping sun.
A boy walks surrounded in a charm of butterflies,
as hope pours golden from his honeyed lips.
We dance upon the lip of a tulip swaying in September,
the dust of a blue birds’ song makes me sneeze.
There is joy to be found in the breath of equinox,
the promise of clear skies just peaking around the corner.
My Love shimmers within the wings of monarch kisses,
hands extend to grasp those dripping indigo clouds.
I pull at the laces and swim backstroke on the breeze,
should we hold our breath as we plunge into the blue?
Surely our footsteps will echo of promises fulfilled,
sweet lips part goodnight in the birthing dawn.
No lesser grace, just candy-coloured spring,
unhurried glory to bless the awaiting new.
Our elfchen
Find
love; or
open your heart
and let love find
you.
LESSONS FROM SILENCE
Silence still yet teaches us
songs sung from the unwavering depths,
gifts—handcrafted,
drawn from hiding in the folds of Her skirt.
Stare into Her eyes
(you may yet find yourself in them)
a mirror, the purest reflection of
spirit, soul, and body.
Her song is a cautionary tale—
do not be one who turns from the looking glass
and forget the face you wear.
(Whose face do they see?)
Silence takes you by the hand,
a searing white-hot fire that burns and yet
does not
scold.
(Whose face do you see?)
If you are able— and I so pray that you are,
receive the fire of Her gentle words
from She who holds the bouquet
of dancing white flames—
…
You— and all of you
is so
very much needed
in this
world.
REMEMBER
Life
is just an ever-unfolding dance
within the fabric
of a divine
kiss.
